On Thursday 5th July at the Arts4every1 Centre in Desborough Rd, High Wycombe,
Gary Schwartz, an Academy-Award nominated filmmaker, who is visiting the district
from his home in Michigan, USA, will be sharing his animation artworks, and his
experiences of working in the film industry at a new event called ARTFLICKS WYCOMBE.

Through his company, Single Frame Films, Gary has produced, designed & directed
animation for Disney, Sesame Street,MTV, Fox Television,
The Corporation for Public Broadcasting and others. Mr. Schwartz is currently
Lecturer at the University of Michigan School of Art & Design.His kinetic cinema sculptures,
installations & films have been exhibited in major museums & galleries internationally.

“Magic inspires my art; the something that comes from nothing.” he says, and the
audience will have the opportunity to be inspired by the magic conjured by Mr Schwartz
in the opening act of ARTFLICKS WYCOMBE.

ARTFLICKS WYCOMBE is an initiative from a new community group based at the
Arts4every1 centre called theEllipsisNetwork. The event is designed to bring people together
through a love of film and across the boundaries of the different forms of filmmaking.

TheEllipsisNetwork was founded in October 2011 by three graduates of Bucks New University,
Mariko Francombe, Sarah Harlow and Gavin Webb, who are passionate about filmmaking
and wish to form a hub of creative filmmaking activity in High Wycombe.

Following the show by Gary Schwartz, after an interval for socialising and refreshments
(lovely food and drinks will be available for purchase ) the evening will conclude
with a screening of the 2010 feature film, Norwegian Wood which is based on the novel
by Japanese author, Haruki Murakami.
