Fresh from winning the Youth category at the Maidenhead Drama Festival, Troublemaker Theatre Company are launching their inspiring Youth Theatre at the new Arts4Every1 Centre on June 2nd and now is the chance for budding young actors to join them. This up-and-coming local theatre company have a great track record with youth drama.
To kick things off, they are running an exciting series of quality workshops to give the town a taste of what to expect. Aimed at 10-18 year olds, this is a unique chance to learn how to shine on and off stage, while keeping the emphasis on acting. “There are so many groups available for young people to join, but they all seem to see acting as the bits between the songs,” said Rob Bowen, one of the group's directors, “Troublemaker Youth Theatre is the perfect place for all of those who feel left out by all this singing and dancing. We like to think that we provide them with opportunities that they won't find elsewhere.”
The workshops will cover an astonishing range of skills, from stage combat to stage lighting, horror make-up to improvisation. At only £7 each for a two hour session, they promise to be fun-packed without breaking the bank! Following on from the taster sessions, there will be a week long Summer School, culminating in a performance. During this challenging, exhilarating week, students will have the chance to work with our Artistic Directors as well as the usual team of highly experienced specialists.
In September, the group will be starting a regular youth theatre on Thursday evenings, which will perform a show each term.
Places for all of these exciting ventures are limited so to book a place or for more information visit www.troublemakertheatre.org.uk or call Rob on 01494 471392.
