A cappella singing is arguably the purest musical form; the song must sink or swim on its own merit with no instrumentation to hide behind.
The self accompanying vocalist is probably one step away. It’s said, and usually correctly, that if a song stands up in this form it has a good chance of working well in alternative arrangements. I do like to apply this principle to my own compositions, even if they are ultimately destined for band arrangement. Arrangement for solo performance is also an interesting challenge!…..

Pippa Beckford ( kora which is an African harp, and electric guitar) and Barry Nielsen (bass guitar). They play an eclectic mix of covers and originals with a folky lilt provided by Justine’s singing style. The trio are local musicians from High Wycombe.
